Project Overview
The City Football Academy formed a major part of the Etihad Campus, providing a state-of-the-art training base for Manchester City Football Club. Supporting more than 450 players across youth, men’s and women’s teams, it was a prestigious project for one of the most internationally recognised brands in world sport, with building services required to match the quality of the wider facility.
Our Approach
VIP’s role centred on supplying a substantial package of carefully prepared valve assemblies and specialist plantroom equipment. More than 500 manifold units incorporating Danfoss PICVs were required, so consistency and accuracy across every assembly were essential. VIP assembled and individually tested the units in our own workshop before delivery, helping reduce on-site assembly and giving the customer greater confidence in what was being installed. For a project of this profile, our ability to combine product supply with hands-on technical preparation was particularly valuable.
Execution
Over 500 manifold units were assembled and tested by VIP, with Danfoss PICVs providing accurate flow control throughout the system. We also supplied 1% accurate stainless steel pressure gauges, each supported by test certification issued from our in-house calibration facility. The wider package included a combined air and dirt separator, dosing pot and side stream unit to help support water quality and system performance. Coordinating these products as part of one package helped streamline supply while ensuring the equipment arrived ready for its intended role within the installation.
The Outcome
VIP successfully delivered a sizeable package of tested, calibrated and workshop-assembled equipment for a prestigious facility at the heart of an internationally recognised sporting organisation. The project demonstrated our capability to support high-profile developments where accuracy, consistency and dependable preparation were every bit as important as the products themselves.
