Project Overview
City of Westminster College was developed in Paddington Green as a flagship further education project, setting a high benchmark for modern college facilities in the UK. Its distinctive design, centred around a dramatic internal atrium, formed part of the wider regeneration of the area and required sanitaryware suited to a busy, high-use educational environment.
Our Approach
VIP worked closely with the customer to review the sanitaryware requirements across the development and identify where greater value could be achieved without compromising the needs of the project. Drawing on our product knowledge and experience supplying major building services projects, we proposed an alternative specification that delivered a significant value engineering saving. The change was presented clearly to the customer and subsequently approved by the client, allowing the project to benefit from a more cost-effective sanitaryware package while maintaining the required functionality and suitability for the college environment.
Execution
VIP supplied the full sanitaryware requirement for the project, with products delivered directly to site through Lecico. The package included sanitary fittings for the college’s washroom facilities, including accessible WC installations designed for inclusive use. Careful communication between VIP, the customer and the supply chain helped ensure the approved specification was correctly coordinated and delivered as required. By combining product supply with practical specification support, VIP helped simplify procurement while keeping the sanitaryware package aligned with the project’s programme, budget and operational requirements.
