Winchester Sports and Leisure Facility
Location: Winchester
Sector: Sports and Fitness
Project Overview
Opened in Spring 2021, Winchester Sports and Leisure Facility was designed as a modern, inclusive destination for the local community. The development brought together competition and teaching pools, a multi use sports hall, climbing facilities and a dedicated hydrotherapy suite. The project required reliable flow control solutions to support varied water systems across the building.
Our Approach
VIP worked closely with the project team to understand the differing operational demands across the pools and specialist therapy areas. Drawing on strong product and industry knowledge, our team advised on the most suitable EBRO butterfly valves for each application, considering ease of operation, durability and long term maintenance. Clear communication was maintained throughout, ensuring the correct valve types and actuation options were selected and delivered in line with programme requirements.
Execution
A range of EBRO butterfly valves was supplied, including lever operated, gearbox operated and electrically actuated units to suit different plant and system needs. These were used across pool circulation systems and supporting services, where dependable performance and precise control were essential. All supplied valves met relevant quality standards, with WRAS approved products used where required to support compliance and peace of mind for the client.
The Outcome
The completed facility opened on schedule, providing Winchester with a high quality leisure and wellbeing space that caters for both everyday users and those with specialist needs. VIP’s responsive support and practical advice helped ensure the right products were in place first time, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted partner on complex leisure projects built on decades of hands on experience.
