Project Overview
Yotel Manchester was a newly developed, design-led hotel located just off Deansgate, bringing a modern hospitality concept into the city centre. The project required reliable, space-efficient building services solutions to suit the hotel’s compact room layouts and rooftop plantroom, while maintaining long-term performance and ease of maintenance across a busy operational environment.
Our Approach
VIP worked closely with the project team to ensure the pipework and plantroom products selected aligned with Yotel’s innovative design and operational requirements. Drawing on strong product and industry knowledge, our team specified multi-layer pipe and fittings that were well suited to tight service risers and repeated room layouts. For the rooftop plantroom, VIP supported the selection of rubber bellows, valves and instrumentation, providing technical guidance throughout. As expansion products were involved, VIP’s expansion design service, backed by PI Insurance, helped ensure confidence in the final solution. Clear communication and a proactive approach ensured the project stayed on track.
Execution
VIP supplied multi-layer pipe and fittings from the risers into each hotel room, enabling a clean, efficient installation across multiple floors. In addition, VIP delivered a comprehensive package of rooftop plantroom components, including rubber bellows, ball valves and associated instrumentation. All products met relevant WRAS requirements, supporting compliance and quality standards on site. Deliveries were carefully coordinated to suit the construction programme, with VIP maintaining close contact with the site team to respond quickly to queries and changes as the build progressed.
The Outcome
The finished installation provided Yotel Manchester with a robust and well-designed building services solution, supporting both guest comfort and long-term reliability. The combination of well-specified products, technical support and hands-on customer care demonstrated VIP’s ability to add value on complex hospitality projects, particularly where space, performance and programme certainty were critical to success.
