Introduction to the BSP Filter Pot Range

The BSP Filter Pot range delivers a compact, all-in-one side-stream filtration solution designed to protect and optimise HVAC systems. Combining magnetic filtration, air and dirt separation, chemical dosing, and ultra-fine cartridge filtration into a single unit, it actively removes both magnetic and non-magnetic debris while improving water quality and system efficiency. Suitable for both new and existing installations, the Filter Pot helps reduce breakdowns, lower energy consumption, and maintain long-term performance, with micro, mini, and midi sizes available to suit a wide range of system volumes.

Why use a BSP Filter Pot?

Side-stream filtration can improve old and maintain the condition of new systems post-cleaning by capturing residual suspended solids in the circulating water, thus preventing the buildup of settled solids in low-flow areas and terminal units. This method is suitable for most systems and BSRIA highly recommends this for systems with a capacity exceeding 2500 litres.

What is a Filter Pot?

The BSP Filter Pot is the industry leading Side Stream Filtration Solution.
By combining a Magnetic Filter, Dosing Pot, Dirt & Air Separator and Fine Filtration
Cartridge Filter technology into a single solution, the Filter Pot is excellent value
and has become essential for ensuring BSRIA BG29 & BG50 compliance.

Complete Compliance

The UK Government report published in 2021 determined savings of up to 36% by restoring system water quality. The Filter Pot has been designed to the industry standards BSRIA BG21 & BG50 guidance to ensure complete compliance so that you can achieve these savings in your HVAC Systems.

The Stages?

Stage 1 – Magnetic Filtration
System water enters the Filter Pot via the dirty water inlet
connection at the top of the unit. The system water passes over
the unique 360 Degree Magnetic Grate. The magnetic grate has
been designed to minimise magnetic field interception, increasing the collection of magnetic debris from within the water.

Stage 2 – Automatic Air Removal
The system water then moves through the vessel hitting the
stainless steel baffle plate. The baffle plate serves two purposes,
first providing a surface area for microbubbles contained in the
system water to coalesce (Merge) into bubbles which are released
via the automatic air vent. Secondly, the baffle plate distributes flow evenly around the cartridge filter.

Stage 3 – Anti-Microbial Cartridge Filtration
The Filter Pot features our industry leading Anti-microbial
Cartridge Filtration. This removes non magnetic system debris
down to 0.5 microns surpassing BSRIA recommendations
(5 Micron) to achieve “like new” system water quality.

Stage 4 – Dosing Tundish
Dosing can be achieved via the dosing tundish. All Filter Pots have the capacity to ensure your system can be dosed quickly and efficiently,
ensuring sustained performance and savings. We recommend
the use of our inhibi-clean 400 combined inhibitor and non drain
cleaner.

Stage 5 – Drain & Fill Point
The patented Filter Pot design includes our unique drain & fill
connection. This connection can be used in maintenance periods
to safely drain the vessel of hot, dirty system water and also to fill
the system with mains water.

Replacement Cartridges

Filter Pot Cartridge

Available for all Filter Pots, the new BSP Anti-Microbial Depth Filtration Cartridges utilise a layer of nylon infused with an anti-bacterial additive to effectively trap and retain particulates of various sizes, while also inhibiting the growth of trapped bacteria and microbes within the filter.

Incorporating advanced manufacturing techniques, BSP has developed Anti-Microbial Depth Cartridges designed to improve filtration performance. This is achieved by utilising a specialised anti-microbial spun depth cartridge process that prevents premature blocking caused by biofilm formation. The cartridges use Silver Ion Technology, which provides effective anti-microbial properties.

Inhibi-clean 400

The BSP Inhibi-Clean 400 is a high-performance combined inhibitor and non-drain system cleanser developed to restore and maintain the efficiency of closed-loop HVAC heating and cooling systems. Designed as a 2-in-1 treatment solution, it works by gently lifting and suspending system debris while simultaneously forming a protective barrier against corrosion throughout the pipework and system components. Its ultra-concentrated formula treats up to 400 litres of system water per litre of product, significantly reducing chemical usage, packaging waste, transportation costs and downtime associated with traditional flushing methods.

Unlike conventional chemical cleansers that require full system draining and flushing, Inhibi-Clean 400 enables effective on-line cleaning when used alongside BSP’s Filter Pot side stream filtration systems. The product is biodegradable, non-hazardous and pH neutral, making it suitable for use with mild steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminium, alloys and plastic system components. By helping to remove sludge, corrosion deposits and suspended solids while protecting against future anodic, cathodic and pitting corrosion, Inhibi-Clean 400 assists in improving energy efficiency, reducing maintenance costs and extending overall system lifespan.

Inhibi-clean Test Strips

Inhibi-clean Test Strips

The BSP Inhibi-Clean 400 Test Strips provide a fast and simple method of checking inhibitor concentration levels within the system. Designed for quick on-site testing, the strips accurately detect Molybdate tracer levels to ensure the system remains correctly dosed and fully protected against corrosion and system degradation.

Filter Monitor

The BSP BG29 Monitor is a purpose-designed water quality monitoring solution developed to support compliance with BSRIA BG29 guidance for closed heating and cooling systems. Designed to provide continuous system condition monitoring, the unit helps facilities teams and contractors maintain optimal water quality, improve system efficiency and reduce the risk of corrosion, fouling and component failure.

The BG29 Monitor enables rapid on-site testing and analysis of key system water parameters, supporting proactive maintenance strategies and long-term asset protection. By assisting with compliance monitoring and water treatment verification, the unit helps ensure heating and cooling systems continue to operate safely, efficiently and in line with industry best practice.

Compact, durable and simple to install, the BSP BG29 Monitor is suitable for a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC applications where ongoing system monitoring and water treatment management are critical.

Paddle Type Sight Flow Indicator

Paddle Type Sight Flow Indicator

Stainless steel paddle type flow indicators provide a simple and reliable method of visually confirming liquid flow within pipework systems. Featuring a rotating paddle visible through the sight glass, they allow quick visual inspection of system flow and performance without interrupting operation.

Manufactured from stainless steel for excellent durability and corrosion resistance, these flow indicators are suitable for a wide range of heating, cooling and industrial process applications. We offer units with 1/2” and 3/4” BSP threaded connections, providing a compact and low-maintenance solution for visual flow monitoring.
